URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!!
So I really need ya’ll to be praying for my buddy, Lance. Lance is my ex-girlfriend Brigette’s brother. Lance has Cerebral Palsy, thanks to an unfortunate decision by the medical staff when he was born. One of his lungs collapsed, and he didn’t get on oxygen quite fast enough. There was no malpractice involved; the doctors made the best decision the could considering the medical knowledge of the time.
Lance is now 21, and has recently had something of a bad turn. There is a artery in Lance’s brain stem that is now pressing on his brain, making it impossible for him to swallow thin liquids like water. It’s also made an existing speech difficulty much worse. Lance can now hardly talk. This condition is so rare that there are only a handful of medical doctors qualified to perform the surgery he needs, but the risks related to the surgery are really high. The danger with any neurosurgery is two-fold; stroke, or death.
Pray that Lance’s case would get picked up by a neurosurgeon who will take the case for medical journal purposes. Since Lance is on Medicaid, pretty much no neurosurgeon is going to pick him up.
This is going to take a miracle for Lance, but fortunately, prayer to Jesus works some awesome miracles!
